5.Apply for permanent residency in just 3–5 years depending on your job type.
Step 1: Understand Who Can Apply
The UK Global Talent Visa is for established talent – individuals who can demonstrate they are already leaders in their respective field – as well as applicants showing ‘promise’ and potential to become leaders in their field.These fields include, but are not limited to:
1.Tech Industry (Digital Technology)
Software engineers, AI/ML experts, cybersecurity professionals, data scientists, fintech professionals, etc. Endorsed by Tech Nation (although Tech Nation is closing soon, a new endorsing body will take over).
2.Academia & Research
Scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and academics in STEM fields. This must be endorsed by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) or other approved research bodies.
3.Arts & Culture
Filmmakers, musicians, fashion designers, architects, digital artists, etc. this is to be expected endorsed by Arts Council England, British Fashion Council, and others.

Step 2: Global Talent Visa Endorsement Or Without endorsement.
Global Talent Visa based on endorsement
There are two levels under the Global Talent Visa are endorsed:
1. Exceptional Talent – If you are already a leader in your field.
2.Exceptional Promise – If you are an emerging leader with potential.
Global Talent Visa based on prestigious Prizes
The applications are also open to individuals who hold one of the prestigious prizes as listed in Appendix Global Talent: Prestigious Prizes of the Immigration Rules.
These prizes have been identified by the Global Talent endorsing bodies as demonstrating exceptional talent.
If you are the named recipient of one of the qualifying prestigious prize, you would be eligible to apply for a Global Talent visa without the need to obtain endorsement.
Step 3: Prepare Your Endorsement Application
Before you apply for the visa, you must get endorsed by an official UK organization. This is the most important part of the process!
Documents Needed for Endorsement:
1. Updated CV (showing your work, achievements, and career history)
2. 3 Strong Recommendation Letters from experts in your field
3. Portfolio or Work Samples (GitHub, research papers, press features, etc.)
4. Proof of Awards, Grants, or Major Contributions
5. Employment History or Business Proof (contracts, payslips, etc.)
Each category has different requirements, so check what applies to you before submitting!
Step 4: Submit Your Endorsement Application
Once your documents are ready, submit your endorsement application online through the UK Home Office website.
Cost of Endorsement Application: £524
Processing Time: 4 – 8 weeks (sometimes faster if applying under fast-track research route)
I suggest that you take your time to prepare a strong application! If your endorsement is rejected, you’ll have to reapply, and it can delay your plans. So do it well at first.
Stage 5: Apply for the Global Talent Visa (Online + Biometrics in person )
Once endorsed, you apply for the Global Talent Visa through the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) portal.
You will need to book an appointment for biometrics at a UK Visa Application Centre. After biometrics, your application is processed, and if successful, you get your visa stamped in your passport.
You are expected to pay Visa Fees: £192, and
Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)
Processing Time: 3 – 8 weeks (Priority service available for faster processing)
Apply for Priority Processing if you need a faster decision (usually takes 5 working days).
Step 6: Get Your Visa & Relocate to the UK!
Once your visa is approved, book your flight to the UK and start your new life!
Step 7: Apply for Permanent Residency (ILR) in the UK.
One of the biggest advantages of the Global Talent Visa is the fast track to permanent residency.
If you are a Tech & Research professionals: Apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in 3 years.
For Arts & Culture professionals: Apply for ILR in 5 years.
After getting ILR, you can apply for UK Citizenship if you meet the requirements!
